Flash Flooding Strikes Sonora, Mexico

No Dogs Reported Injured

Sept. 4, 2008

A localized flash flood was reported in the State of Sonora, Mexico today as approximately an inch of water from an unknown source covered much of the area known as Our Guestroom and the adjacent Guest Bathroom region.

Cleanup efforts are well underway and there appear to have been no casualties.

Reporters on the scene describe the mood of residents as “sweaty, somewhat grumpy, with scattered outbreaks of swearing.”

When reached for comment local resident Carlo Scottierez remarked, “I was planning on washing that stupid floor any way.”

When asked how this development would affect the future of tourism in the area, prominent gringa Melodie Scottoso said plans would go ahead as scheduled, noting, “Many of our friends are good, strong swimmers.” She did add that flotation devices would be provided, free of charge, for the benefit of any skinny red-headed gringos who might drown in an inch of water.

Local dog reaction was mixed though most agreed it was “The best fun we’ve had all day” adding “Got a cookie?”

Ha, nice to see that the sense of humour did not go away with the flood.

Not a drop of rain here. I'm monitoring for a possible leak under the bathroom sink. Upsides include; it was clean water not sewage, the floor is tile, not wood or wood laminate, which would have been destroyed, and, it actually did get me to clean up that room.

An indoor pool? Cool!
I think your establishment gets an extra * for that...
