We went down to Mirador today, after a splendid sleep-in. It's slightly rockier beach, and more for the turistas. It was fun, with the tide out so far there were a lot of tidal pools. I'm cheating by taking an image off the web:
We were having a problem playing some of our DVDs on the new system, but I figured out how to connect my laptop to the tv. And I've ordered an adaptor so I can plug my audio into the amp. Did I mention? We got our TV remote, so we could make some changes there.
Now I'm searching for rennet tablets. Does anyone know where to get them? I want to try making feta cheese. Then I won't have to go to the US for my fix.
Last night I finally caved in and went for pizza. We had heard that Benny's pizza was pretty good. It was! Thin but crispy crust, great taste. We avoided the hot sauce, which looked really hot!!
We've put together a marketing plan and an initial website look for Wayne, Violet and Ron, going out there tomorrow to see what they have to say. I called and chatted with Pattie today, its really nice to make a local call and catch up with people! Looks like you're having some wonderful weather in Calgary this week. Word is Paul's got a new smoker and a big pork roast, if anyone wants to mooch.
Yesterday we went to another store down in the old port that you have to see! We didn't have our camera, but if we go down there today (which we like to do just for fun), I'll at least get a picture of the outside. Inside it's a warehouse with everything from margarita glasses, ceramic cabinet hardware, bowls, plates, pitchers, mugs, ceramic switchplates, figurines (Carl like the skeleton mermaid, maybe we can get a shot of that), sculptures of rusted steel, suns, and a whole room in the back with yard decorations that we never even entered. I think if you bought quite a few items you could get a deal. We're thinking...

You, you, CAPITALISTS you, lol.
I think you might have found something, if shipping does not kill you.
Hmm, pizza looks good....., hot peppers? onions? Pepperoni? What no hot sauce?
oh, we weren't even thinking of that! Hahah. No, I just meant that if we wanted to buy some stuff, it would be better to make a list, let's see, we need plates, a jug, a few mugs, some switchplates, a figurine or two, that sculpture, and some glasses. Rather than going in and buying one thing at a time. :)
Mmmmm - Pizza! Looks pretty good.
So, how far is the new beach?
Hey, don't go buying everything already. Save some fun for when I get there. I want to shop in these places, but living in a Volkswagen, we don't have room for me to actually buy anything.
New beach is about the same as the other, about 5-10 minute drive. It's rockier, but a slightly different view. There's one out of town we can go to as well, the Laguna Shores one. The pizza was pepperoni, Italian sausage, green peppers, mushrooms. More blog tonight!
