It's been an exciting few days since we met Rosie. It was her idea to start an online newspaper with real hard news (and a lot of soft news) about Puerto Peñasco and Sonora. We talked about it Dec 6th and launched it yesterday. www.rockypointnewsonline.com! It's a weekly. If you have a website, please link back to us!! This is Rosie:
Now I call myself, "Melody Scott, cub reporter". Yesterday Carl and I went out to the ribbon-cutting for the new Gulf Highway connecting Puerto Peñasco to the Baja and California. It ends just outside of Yuma, and makes the drive from San Diego a mere four hours! Read more in our next issue. (hee hee I love saying that).
Rosie grew up splitting her time between living in Los Angeles and living in Pitiquito. Here's some information about that, very interesting:

She writes for the Rocky Point Times as well, she's quite prolific. And a huge book lover, so we all get along quite well. She also has a ferocious sense of humour.
It has been extremely windy here, starting Saturday the winds were about 10 mph, then they've been building, until yesterday it was a bit of a sandstorm, with winds about 30mph.
Today it's supposed to be sunny, 17 with slight winds, but it looks like they're picking up again tomorrow. Oh well, I guess this is winter, I think I can take it. They said it hadn't rained like it did yesterday for years. It really came down.
Merry Christmas to everyone, with all that's going on I probably won't blog again until the New Year. Feliz Navidad!

Congratulations on the launch of your online newspaper! That's fantastic! I enjoyed seeing your by-line and look forward to reading your publication weekly. Rosie sounds like a hoot, I hope we can meet her. That is, if we ever get out of Provo...
Thanks, Cheryl, she is a hoot, but rapidly leading us down the road to sleazy bars. And not-so-sleazy bars. There's place called Capone's here, and a rumour that Capone loved it down here and built one of the older motels. Truth? Probably not, but a good rumor.
