Our faucet in the kitchen was broken, so I needed to find a new one. It's also scaled with lime deposits, so off I went to the local plumbing supply store. Can I buy something like this here? Turns out I could! Puedo comprar- can I buy.. that is so handy. ¿Puedo comprar carne asada aqui? ¿Puedo comprar advil aqui? ¿Puedo comprar platijo? ¿Puedo comprar queso feta? no, sadly no...
Now we have to install it. Man, a toilet one week, a faucet the next! We are no plumbers. Or drywallers, or carpenters... but can we do sound, video and lighting!
Here's a tide table for October, if anyone wants to follow it:

Jazz festival on Saturday! This should be fun. Starts about 6, watch the sunset and listen to jazz for a few hours. I'm betting there will be food and beer as well. We're taking Oswaldo and his wife.
Day before yesterday, a knock came at the door, and we found out we also have to pay for garbage pickup. So now we have four separate bills to pay at four different locations. ( Municipal, electrical, water, phone). Although only the electrical company will actually cut you off. And for the garbage collection, apparently you can pay for the year.
Some mornings when we get up, the humidity is quite thick, and our car looks like it needs to have the frost scraped off! But it's just condensation, of course. However, we have to do something I never thought I'd do again- run the defroster! As long as I never have to plug the block heater in, I guess it's ok...
This morning it was actually quite misty down at Playa Bonita, and the shrimp boats were out, I think they're beautiful- I didn't take this picture, however, it's taken later in the day:
Carl took a picture of what he laughingly calls the "Brain Trust":
Shadow really likes laying on carpet rather than the tile floor when he can.
And a final shot, I thought this was an interesting perspective on the town, that's from the Hill where the El Captaine Restaurant is, looking out over the Malecon (Old Port) towards the Sandy Beach condos. Behind you would be the Mirador area:

¡Felicitaciones! Tu español es mejor cada día.
Don't you love it when you learn a phrase that can be used daily?
You need Larry there. He doesn't drywall but of course in Mexico you don't drywall, but he can lay brick and do electrical and plumbing and is even my tailor amongst many other talents. He even took a try at throwing cement on the adobe bricks to coat them against the rain as they are so soft but that wasn't overly successful as 3/4 landed on the floor. But you name it in Mexico and I think he has done it including helping to build radio antennas and rebuild a radio station. Larry said watch your pipes and fittings because some will be in inches and some in metric and you may end up needing a lot of glue!!!!!!!!!Have a great day.
